1. Second “Sushasan Saptah” (Good Governance Week)

Context: Second “Sushasan Saptah” (Good Governance Week) will be observed from December 19-25, 2022.
Details:
- Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has extended best wishes for the success of Good Governance week. He appreciated the inclusion of the ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’ campaign during the week-long campaign.
- The campaign would focus on improving service delivery and redressal of public grievances across all the Districts of the country. The progress will be reported by the District Collectors on a dedicated portal.
- An Exhibition on Good Governance Practices will also be launched.
- The focus areas of the campaign are:
- Redressal of pending public grievances in CPGRAMS and state portals
- Addition of services for online service delivery
- Disposal of Service Delivery applications
- Collation of Good Governance practices and their dissemination
- Sharing of one success story per district on the resolution of public grievances

Prashasan Gaon ki Ore:
- It is a Nationwide campaign for the Redressal of Public Grievances and Improving Service Delivery across all Districts, States/Union Territories of India.
- The vision of the ‘Prashasan Gaon ki Ore’ campaign is to bring citizens across all Districts of India closer to the administration.
- District Collectors will organize special camps/events at Tehsil/ Panchayat Samitis Headquarters etc. in this direction during the Sushasan Saptah.
- A special feature of the campaign in 2022 is the organization of a workshop on “Good Governance Practices/Initiatives” on 23rd December 2022.
- The aim of this initiative is to provide a platform to encourage and document good governance practices at the grass-root level. It will further help in outlining a Vision document for District@100.
- It will create a National Movement for good governance in promoting a citizen-centric approach to governance.
2. “One Week, One Lab” campaign
Syllabus: GS 3, Science and Technology
Mains: Science and Technology development.
Prelims: “One Week, One Lab” campaign.
Context: CSIR’s “One Week, One Lab” countrywide campaign will be launched from 6th January 2023.
Details:
- The “One Week, One Lab” campaign of CSIR will be launched from 6th January 2023.
- Under this campaign each of the 37 premier Institutes/Laboratories of CSIR spread across India will display their exclusive innovations and technological breakthroughs every successive week.
- It is a theme-based campaign that is expected to ignite the minds of young students, innovators, academia, start-ups, and industry to navigate the opportunities through deep tech ventures.
- A Special Call for Research Grant Proposals for Women Scientists was announced during the 200th Governing meeting of CSIR.
- The new tagline, “CSIR-The Innovation Engine of India” was also released to align with the present-day transformation.
- The implementation of a paperless E-office across all labs (with effect 01 April 2023) and an E-performance appraisal system for the staff for Reporting Year 2022-2023 were also approved.
Council of Scientific and Industrial Research(CSIR):
- It was established on 26 September 1942 and was registered as a CSIR Society under the Societies Registration Act of 1860.
- The first meeting of the Governing Body was held on 09 March 1942.
