Context – Celebrating India’s 75th year of independence as Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Details –
- The Ministry of Culture, GoI is celebrating India’s 75th year of independence as ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. On this occasion, National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi is organising a festival “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav- 22nd Bharat Rang Mahotsav, 2022 (Azadi Segment)” to pay tribute to our freedom fighters from 16th July to 14th August 2022.
- The opening ceremony of the festival was inaugurated by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture, GoI Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal.

Context – Decommissioning of INS Sindhudhvaj.
Details –
- INS Sindhudhvaj bid adieu to the Indian Navy on 16th July 2022, after serving for 35 years.
- The decommissioning event was attended by 15 of the former commanding officers. Vice Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, was the chief guest for the ceremony.
- Sindhudhvaj was the flag bearer of indigenisation and navy’s efforts towards achieving Atma Nirbharta in the Russian built Sindhughosh class submarines throughout her journey in the navy.

Context – P.V Sindhu wins her first ever Singapore Open Title.
Details –
- The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi congratulated P.V Sindhu on winning her first ever Singapore Open title.
- India’s ace shutter and olympic medalist, P.V Sindhu clinched the Singapore open 2022 after defeating China’s Wang Zhiyi in the final of the women’s singles category.
- This is Sindhu’s third title of 2022.
