SEBI Grade A 2023: Eligibility Criteria

SEBI Grade A Exam 2023 is an examination for the position of Assistant Manager held on behalf of the central government by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The SEBI Grade A 2023 exam is yet to be conducted and once the official notification is out, candidates will have a fair understanding of various aspects of the exam.

The SEBI Grade A Recruitment Notification was released and the phase I examination was conducted on February 20th, 2022.

If candidates want to apply for the SEBI Grade A exam, they must meet the qualifying conditions established by the organising authorities, which include age limit, educational qualification, nationality and others. The maximum age limit is 30 years; however, reserved category candidates are allowed to be older.

SEBI Grade A 2023: Eligibility Overview

Candidates for the SEBI Grade A position must meet a series of qualifying requirements. Only then will their application be considered further. The following are the qualifying criteria:

SEBI Grade A Eligibility 2023: Nationality

Candidates must also be eligible for the Nationality in order to apply for the SEBI Grade A. Candidates must be one of the following:

  • Indian citizens
  • Citizens of Bhutan, Nepal, and Bangladesh who hold a valid certificate issued by the Indian government.

SEBI Grade A Eligibility 2023: Age Limit

To apply for the SEBI Grade A Officer Exam requires a certain set of eligibility requirements to be met. According to the official notification, the candidates must be between 21-30 years of age.

The candidate should not be born on or before March 01, 1990, and must not have exceeded the age of 30 years as of 31st December 2021.

SEBI Grade A Eligibility 2023: Educational Qualification

If you are applying for the SEBI Grade A exam 2023, you must have specific educational requirements. You must have the appropriate educational degree for the stream you are applying for. The following are the educational criteria for SEBI Grade A Eligibility Criteria 2023:

Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised University / Institute
Engineering (Civil) Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University / Institute
General Candidates in the general stream should have a Master’s degree in any subject OR a Bachelor’s degree in Law / Engineering OR a Chartered Accountant / Company Secretary / Chartered Financial Analyst / Cost & Work Accountant.
Information Technology Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Electronics And Communication / Information Technology / Computer Science) OR Masters in Computer Application OR Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a postgraduate qualification in Computers / Information Technology (minimum 2 years duration).
Legal Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University / Institute.
Official Language Master’s Degree in Hindi with English as one of the courses at the Bachelor’s Degree level or Master’s Degree in Sanskrit/English/Economics/Commerce with Hindi as one of the subjects at the Bachelor’s Degree level from a recognised University/Institute
Research A Master’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration (Finance), or Econometrics from a reputable University or Institute is required.

Important Points to Remember

  • Candidates may apply for a maximum of two streams in which they are eligible based on their educational qualifications.
  • Separate online applications must be filed for each stream, with the appropriate fees paid for each application.
  • If a candidate applies more than once in a single stream and/or applies for more than two streams, only the most recent applications will be considered genuine, and all previous applications will be denied.
  • A Post Graduate Diploma in any discipline will be accepted as an educational requirement for General Stream, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Statistics / Economics / Commerce / Business Administration (Finance) / Econometrics will be accepted as an educational requirement for the Research Stream, provided an equivalent is recognised by the Government of India as equivalent to a Master’ Degree in that discipline.
  • The applicants will be responsible for providing all essential documentation in this respect.
  • Officers recruited in any stream may be assigned to any SEBI department, regardless of their stream.

SEBI Grade A Eligibility 2023: Number Of Attempts

The SEBI Grade A 2023 official notification does not provide a maximum number of tries or any other relevant information. Candidates are free to apply as many times as they like. However, multiple requests from the same candidate will be refused. Each applicant is only allowed one submission.

SEBI Grade A Eligibility 2023: Work Experience

To apply for the position of SEBI Grade A officer, there is no minimum work experience required. Any applicant who has just completed their studies can apply for the position based on their educational qualifications and the position for which they intend to apply.

SEBI Grade A Eligibility 2023: For PwD

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities have been granted reservation under Section 34 of the “Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.” The following disabilities are included in the Schedule of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016:

  • Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Blindness and Low Vision
  • Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness,
  • Locomotors disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy
  • Multiple disabilities
  • PwBD means a person with not less than 40% of a specified benchmark disability where specified disability has not been defined in measurable terms and are eligible to apply in the GEN/ SC/ ST/ OBC/EWSs category. They will be eligible for concession in the application fee.
  • Other disabilities (as per the Rights of Persons With Disabilities Act, 2016)
  • The PwBD candidates may belong to any category (i.e.GEN/SC/ ST/ OBC/EWSs) and they will be eligible for age relaxations. Reservation for PwBD is horizontal and within the overall vacancies for the posts.
