FCI 2023 Notification Out: Food Corporation of India (FCI) is one of the largest Public Sector Undertaking that deals with food grain and supply chain management. A total of 113 Grade 2 Manager vacancies and 5043 Assistant vacancies are being filled by Food Corporation of India (FCI) at its various locations located around the nation. Six months of training will be required of the individuals who made the short list for manager positions. The FCI Online Exam for Assistant Grade 3 positions will take place on January 1, 7, 14, and 21 of 2023. 

FCI Manager 2022: The FCI Manager Phase I online exam was held between December 10 and December 17, 2022. The Phase I Exam Results were previously made public. CI Manager Phase 2 will be held on January 29, 2023

The Food Corporation of India (FCI) released the notification for the post of Manager on August 27, 2022. The registration process to apply for the exam commenced on August 27, 2022. The last date to apply for the exam was September 26, 2022. The FCI Manager exam is scheduled to be held in December 2022.

Candidates who qualify all the phases of the exam and get appointed to the FCI are provided allowances and various other benefits along with a monthly salary as per the rules and regulations of the Food Corporation of India. FCI General Manager Salary and Allowances

  • Training is a part of the selection process for the post of General Manager (except Hindi), which carries a weightage of 10%
  • Candidates who are selected as Management Trainees (General/ Depot/ Movement/ Accounts/ Technical/ Civil Engineering/ Electrical  Mechanical Engineering) undergo 6 months training and are given a consolidated stipend at the rate  of Rs. 40000 per month during the training period.

The Food Corporation of India has laid down the eligibility criteria in terms of age limit, nationality, educational qualification and experience for the posts of FCI General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Medical Officer. How to apply for the FCI examination?

Applicants can follow the steps given below to apply for the posts of FCI General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Medical Officer 

  1. Visit the official  website of the Food Corporation of India i.e. fci.gov.in.
  2. On the homepage, click on the ‘Current Recruitment’ tab.
  3. A new page will appear. To apply for the General Manager post, click on ‘Category II’ link and to apply for the Assistant General Manager and Medical Officer posts, click on ‘Category I’ link. 
  4. Post of General Manager: After clicking on the ‘Category II’ link, a new page will be displayed on the screen. In order to apply for the General Manager post, candidates should scroll down and select the zone. After selecting the zone, candidates should click on the ‘Apply Online’ link on the new page. OR Posts of Assistant General Manager and Medical Officer: On the new page, candidates should select “Click Here” link given next to “For Application Process (Application link for online form is available (Date)–(Time)”
  5. On the next page, candidates should select the ‘Click Here for New Registration’ tab and register by filling in their name, contact  details and email-id. A Provisional Registration number and password will be generated and displayed on the screen. The same will be sent to the candidate via email & SMS.
  6. Candidates should login again using the provisional registration number password and fill in the remaining information and use the ‘Save and Next’ tab to save the data every time they move to the next page.
  7. Candidates should validate their details and save their application by clicking on ‘Validate your details’ and ‘Save &  Next’ button. 
  8. After validating and saving the information, candidates should upload their Photo & Signature as per the specifications given in the official notification.
  9. After uploading the photograph and signature, and filling in the required information, candidates should click on the ‘Preview’ tab to check the entire application form before finally submitting the application form.
  10. After verifying the entire application (and modifying details wherever necessary), candidates should click on the ‘Final Submit’ button.
  11. Candidates should pay the application fee online by clicking on the ‘Payment’ Tab.
  12. After successfully paying the application fee, the applicant should click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  13. Candidates should take a printout of the application form and the e-receipt that is generated by the system after successfully paying the application fee.

Points to Remember: Apply Online for the Posts of General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Medical Officer

  • Before submitting the online application, candidates should verify the details in the online application as no change will be entertained after clicking the ‘Final Submit’ button. 
  • The name of the candidate or his /her father/ husband etc. should be spelt correctly in the online application form and should be the same as it appears in the Certificates or Mark sheets or Identity proof. Any alteration in the names may disqualify the candidate. 
  • After paying the application fee, candidates should ensure that they get the e-receipt, which is automatically generated after the successful completion of the transaction.

  • Candidates can pay the application fee by using debit cards  (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets and UPI.
  • Candidates should not ‘Press Back or Refresh’ the page while paying the application fee.
  • An e-receipt will be generated after successfully paying the fees. If an e-receipt is not generated by the system, it indicates ‘payment failure’.   • Candidates who are able to score the minimum qualifying marks in the online test will be shortlisted for the interview based on the number of vacancies. 
  • Candidates can easily download their call letter for the interview from the official website of FCI.
  • The weightage given to the online test and interview is 90% and 10% respectively. 
  • There is document verification on the day of the interview. On successfully completing the document verification, candidates will be called for the interview. 
  • Valid documents should be produced during document verification. If candidates are unable to provide valid documents then their candidature will be cancelled.

Recruitment for the post of General Manager (General, Depot, Movement, Accounts, Technical, Civil Engineering and Electrical Mechanical Engineering) is based on the online test, interview and training, whereas selection of candidates for the post of General Manager (Hindi) is based on the online test and interview only. The information related to the various phases of the online test and exam pattern is given in the tables below.

  • Phase 1 exam is of objective type and will contain multiple choice questions (MCQs)
  • Each question will carry 1 mark
  • 1/4th of the mark assigned to the question will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Interview

Applicants who pass the online test qualify for the Interview. The shortlisted candidates can download their interview call letter form the official website of the FCI. The venue, time, date of interview, etc., will be given in the admit card. There will be document verification during the interview, therefore, candidates should carry all the necessary documents listed in the official notification.

Training

Selected candidates have to go through training as Management Trainees for six-months. Training carries a weightage of 10%.

For Phase 1 of the FCI General Manager exam, there is no prescribed syllabus. Question in phase 1 are based on the following topics:

  • The online test comprises questions on General Aptitude and relevant discipline (except for the Assistant Manager in General Administration post). 
  • There is no prescribed syllabus for the General Aptitude test but candidates can go through the past year question papers to get an idea of the type of questions asked in the exam. The topics that are part of General Aptitude test include:

The Food Corporation of India releases admit cards for candidates 10 days prior to the examination. Candidates can follow the steps given below to download their call letter/admit card

  1. Visit the official website of the FCI i.e. fci.gov.in.
  2. Click on the ‘Current Recruitment’ tab.
  3. A new page will be displayed on the screen. In order to download the call letter/admit card for the post of General Manager, candidates should click on ‘Category II’ link, whereas for the Assistant General Manager and Medical Officer posts, click on ‘Category I’ link.

After clicking on the ‘Category II’ link, a new page will appear. In order to download the call letter for the post of General Manager, candidates should scroll down and select the zone.   2. Candidates should check the details given in the admit card carefully and take a printout of the admit card. If candidates find any discrepancies or are unable to download the admit card, they should register their grievance at cgrs.ibps.in at least one week before the date of the exam.
