How are Cutoffs for WBPSC calculated?

The cutoffs for the West Bengal Civil Services are calculated on factors such as difficulty level, overall performance of the candidates, vacancy or more.

For example if there are 400 WBCS vacancies then 4000 might be eligible for mains. On an average if the 4000 candidates get score 120 or above then the cutoff marks will be at 120

There are three stages at which cut off is calculated i.e. prelims stage, mains stage and final cut off. At the mains stage, prelims marks are not considered. The final cut off is based on combined marks of mains and interview.

The maximum marks in the WBCS prelims exam are 200 because there is only one question paper of 200 marks. For this paper cut off marks are calculated. In the mains paper, a minimum of 33% marks is required in all GS papers, if fallen below process ends there
