Aspirants willing to appear for the General Insurance Corporation of India exam must be a citizen of an Indian National. Candidates who are –
- An Indian citizen or,
- A subject of Nepal, Bhutan or
- A Tibetian refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 intending to permanently settle in India or,
- Migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.
