Life Insurance Corporation, commonly known as LIC, is the oldest and most trust-worthy investment company and insurance provider. LIC ADO recruitment is conducted to fill the vacancies for the post of Apprentice Development Officer. Apart from LIC ADO, there are two more recruitments conducted by the LIC:

  1. LIC AAO
  2. LIC HFL

LIC ADO recruitment process consists of three levels:

  1. Written Test
  2. Interview
  3. Medical Exam

LIC ADO Notifications

LIC has released the examination dates for LIC ADO Mains Examination. The application process for LIC ADO was started on 20th May 2019.

As per 2019 LIC notifications, the LIC ADO Mains Examination was scheduled to be conducted on 11th August 2019. LIC has released revised exam dates for Mains Exam for the Apprentice Development Officers. As per the official notice, the Mains Exam for LIC ADO will now be conducted on September 22 2019.

The Prelims Examination was conducted on 6th July 2019 and 13th July 2019.

LIC ADO Vacancies

For the year 2019, LIC has invited applicants for a total of 8,581 vacancies. Recruitment to these vacancies is conducted by LIC ADO Examination.

LIC ADO recruitment is not an annual process. The last notification for the post of LIC ADO was released on 1st June 2015. The recruitment was open only for the Central Zonal Office, Bhopal.

LIC ADO Eligibility

The candidates need to fulfill some of the eligibility criteria to get selected as an Apprentice Development Officer. The eligibility criteria for LIC ADO Recruitment 2019 are discussed below:

    1. Age Limit: The candidates as on 1st May 2019 should not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 30 years. This implies, the candidates must be born not later than 1.05.1998 and not earlier than 02.05.1989
    2. Experience required: The experience requirements for the post of LIC ADO are discussed below

    1. Educational Qualifications:

The candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree of a University in India approved for the fellowship of Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai.

LIC ADO Exam Pattern

LIC ADO exam is conducted to recruit candidates for the post of Apprentice Development Officer. The exam consists of three levels:

  1. Written Test
    1. Phase -I: Preliminary Examination
    2. Phase -II: Mains Examination
  2. Personal Interview
  3. Medical Test

LIC ADO Prelims: Exam Pattern

The prelims exam has been categorized into three sections:

  1. Reasoning
  2. Numerical ability
  3. English language

The marks obtained in English language will not be considered for ranking. The prelims exam is conducted only for Open Market category while the online examination for LIC employee and LIC Agent consists of single phase i.e., the Mains Examination.

LIC ADO Exam: Mains

There are several categories for LIC ADO Mains exam and each category consists of three papers:

  1. Paper -I: Reasoning Ability & Numerical Ability
  2. Paper-II: General Knowledge, Current Affairs and English Language
  3. Paper-III: Insurance Marketing

The Mains exam comprises the objective type of questions.

The medium of language for all the categories is either English or Hindi except for English language and vocabulary. Candidates must pass in each paper along with the minimum marks in aggregate of three papers to qualify.

LIC ADO Salary

After being recruited as an Apprentice Development Officer, the candidates will be given a fixed amount as a stipend per month as per the rules of the Corporation. An ADO other than an Employee Apprentice will be paid equal to the minimum of the basic pay and dearness allowance.

The present stipend provided to an ADO is Rs. 34,503

The salary of a candidate after being appointed as a Probationary Officer is discussed below:

The total salary is inclusive of House Rent Allowance & City Compensatory Allowance and will be approximately ₹37,345/- in ‘A’ Class City.

LIC ADO Exam: Apply Online

Candidates can apply for the LIC ADO exam through the official website of LIC.

Candidates must follow the following steps while filling up the application form:

  1. Candidates are first required to go to the LIC’s official website.
  2. Once you are at the home page, select the ‘Careers’ option.
  3. Select the option “LIC Apprentice Officer Recruitment”.
  4. Select the option “ Click here to apply online”.
  5. Before filling up the application forms, candidates will be directed to the on-line registration page.
  6. Candidates are required to enter their contact details and email-ID for successful registration. A provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system for future reference.
  7. Candidates must have a scanned copy of their photo-ID cards that will be needed while filling up the application forms.
  8. After successful submission of the application form, an e-Admit Card will be generated 2-3 weeks before the exam date.
  9. Admit cards can be downloaded from the official LIC website.

LIC ADO: Application fees

The mode of payment for the application fees / Intimation fees is online.

For SC/ST candidates, an initiation fee of Rs.50 and transaction charges should be paid. For the candidates other than SC/ST, an application fees cum initiation charges of Rs.600 along with the transaction charge should be paid.
