LIC ADO syllabus is set by the Life Insurance Corporation of India. LIC ADO exam is conducted for the recruitment of candidates to the post of Apprentice Development Officer. Having a thorough knowledge of the LIC ADO Syllabus will help the candidates to prepare well for the exam.

LIC ADO Exam Pattern
The candidates aiming to join the LIC industry as a LIC ADO should start preparing for the exam soon. As per the official notification, LIC ADO Mains examination will be conducted on 11th August 2019.
LIC ADO Mains exam date is revised. Earlier the exam dates for LIC Apprentice Development Officers Mains exam was August 11, 2019, but LIC in the official notification has released the revised date of the exam i.e. September 22, 2019.
The LIC ADO Exam is conducted in three phases:
- Written exam
- Medical Test
The written exam is a computer-based exam and consist of two rounds:
- Round-I: Preliminary Examination
- Round-II: Mains Examination
The LIC ADO examination is conducted for three different categories:
- Open Market: open for all the candidates
- LIC Employee: open for candidates who are full time, salaried employee of LIC (under Grade III)
- LIC Agent: open for candidates who work as agents under LIC.
The LIC ADO exam pattern for prelims is discussed below:

The number of questions for each paper is 35.
Therefore, the maximum marks for Prelims are 70 as the marks for the English language is of qualifying nature and is not considered for the ranking.
Out of the above 3 categories, Open Market category consists of 2 phases:
Whereas, candidates only need to appear for LIC Mains exam for LIC Employee and LIC Agent category.
LIC ADO Mains Exam consists of three papers:
- Paper-I: Reasoning Ability & Numerical Ability
- Paper-II: General Knowledge, Current Affairs & English Language
- Paper-III: Insurance Marketing

The candidates who qualify the cut-off marks in the Mains Examination are called for an interview round. The interview is of 37 marks and includes aptitude based questions to check the reasoning and thinking capability of the candidate.
Before releasing the final merit list, LIC conducts a medical test for the shortlisted candidates. Only those candidates who are found will be selected for the post of Apprentice Development Officer.
