About Tamil Nadu SSLC | SSLC (Class 10) Public Exam
The Tamil Nadu SSLC Class 10 board exam is one of the public exams conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board. The board, which is also known as the Directorate of Government Examinations, was formed in 1975. Every year, over 9 lakh students appear for the TN SSLC exam, which is conducted annually in the months of March and May. The Tamil Nadu SSLC Board also conducts the supplementary exams for repeaters or students who failed the SSLC exams. The supplementary exams are held twice between the months of June and October. Â

TN SSLC Minimum Passing Marks:
TN SSLC students should score a minimum 35 marks in each subject to pass the exam. Students will have to pass the exam for the optional subject (part IV), but the marks scored are not taken into consideration.
Eligibility Criteria for appearing to TN SSLC Examination
- Age Limit
According to the TN Board, the student should be 14 years old on the first day of the month in which the examination is to be conducted. However, if the candidate has not completed 14 years, then they should submit a certificate from the head of the school. They should also submit a medical certificate signed by a registered Medical Practitioner testifying the fitness of the student to attend the examination.
- Examination Fees:
According to the Department of Government Examinations, students need to pay a fee to write the TN SSLC exam. Check the table below to find the revised fees:

- Total Number of Students: Every year, over 9.5 lakh students appear for the Tamil Nadu SSLC Board exam.
