1. Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX)

Context: Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) with French Navy.
Details:
- Indian Navy and French Navy together participated in a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) in the Arabian Sea on the 10th and 11th of March 2023.
- Indian Navy participated with its guided missile frigate INS Sahyadri. Whereas French Navy (FN) involved ships FS Dixmude and FS La Fayette.
- FX Dixmude is a Mistral Class Amphibious Assault Ship.
- FS La Fayette is a La Fayette Class Frigate.
- The exercise displayed cross-deck landings, boarding exercises, and seamanship evolutions.
- The seamless conduct of the exercise shows the interoperability and high level of cooperation between the Indian and French Navies.
INS Sahyadri:
- INS Sahyadri is indigenously built. It is a guided missile frigate.
- INS Sahyadri is a part of the Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet that is based in Vishakhapatnam.
- It is capable of detecting and neutralizing air, surface, and sub-surface threat as it is fitted with world-class weapons and sensors.

- Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi paid tribute to Sri Ayya Vaikunda Swamikal on his birth anniversary.
- He was a great social reformer and thinker.
- Sri Ayya Vaikunda Swamikal devoted himself to serving others and nurturing a society that is just and inclusive.
- Prime Minister highlighted that Sri Swamikal took numerous efforts to empower the downtrodden.
- His thoughts will be a great inspiration for generations to come.
