1. Ayurveda Gyan Naipunya Initiative (AGNI)

Context:

Central Council for Research in Ayurveda Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, has launched the “Ayurveda Gyan Naipunya Initiative” (AGNI) for physicians practising in the field of Ayurveda.

What is the AGNI Initiative?

  • AGNI aims to provide a platform for Ayurveda practitioners to report their innovative practices & and experiences in various disease conditions.
  • AGNI objectives:
    • To promote the culture of reporting evidence-based practice among Ayurveda Practitioners.
    • To document the reported successful therapeutic regimens for various disease conditions involving Single drug/ Formulation/ Procedures for the purpose of education and academics.
    • To identify the interested Ayurveda practitioners for collaboration in the creation of a database through applications and capacity building through training in research methods and good clinical practices.
    • To undertake research for mainstreaming pragmatic practices through scientific validation and evidence-based appraisal.              

Central Council for Research in Ayurveda Sciences (CCRAS):

  • CCRAS is an apex research organization committed to undertaking, coordinating, formulating, developing and promoting research on scientific lines in Ayurveda. 
  • It is under the Ayush Ministry, GOI.
  • The research activities of the Council include Medicinal Plant Research (Medico-Ethno Botanical Survey, Pharmacognosy and Tissue Culture), Drug Standardization, Pharmacological Research, Clinical Research, Literary Research & Documentation and Tribal Health Care Research Programme.
  • It is located in New Delhi and has 30 Institutes/Centres/Units located all over India.

2. ASEAN-India Millet Festival 2023

Prelims: ASEAN-India Millet Festival 2023, Millets

Mains: Millets in India

Context:

The Indian Mission to ASEAN in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare is organizing the ASEAN-India Millet Festival 2023, in Indonesia from 22nd November to 26th November 2023. 

Details:

  • The festival aims to raise awareness and create a market for millets and millets-based products among the ASEAN Member states.
  • The five-day festival will contribute towards raising awareness about millets.

3. AUSTRAHIND-23

Mains: India – Australia relations

Context:

The second edition of Joint Military Exercise AUSTRAHIND-23 between India and Australia will take place in Perth, Australia from 22nd November to 06th December 2023.

AUSTRAHIND-23:

  • Exercise AUSTRAHIND was instituted in 2022 and the first edition was conducted in Mahajan, Rajasthan. It is planned to be an annual training event to be conducted alternatively in India and Australia.
  • The aim of the exercise is to foster collaborative partnerships and share best practices between the two sides. The exercise will also promote inter-operability while undertaking multi-domain operations in Urban and Semi-Urban terrain under Chapter VII of the United Nations on peacekeeping operations.
  • The joint exercise will promote the exchange of ideas and jointly rehearse tactics, techniques and procedures for conducting tactical operations.

4. Karmayogi Prarambh

Prelims: iGOT Karmayogi Platform, Karmayogi Prarambh

Context:

Celebrating 1st Year Anniversary of Karmayogi Prarambh on the iGOT Karmayogi Platform.

Karmayogi Prarambh:

  • It is the online orientation programme on the iGOT Karmayogi Platform for all new government appointees recruited through Rozgar Melas.
  • The Karmayogi Prarambh programme includes a set of eight courses curated to help all Rozgar Mela appointees get acclimatized to government policies and transition smoothly into their new roles.
