KVS Eligibility Criteria – Recruitment for Teachers

Candidates must go through the Kendriya Vidyalaya eligibility criteria to apply for the 2023 KVS examination. KVS eligibility criteria for the post of TGT, PGT, or PRT Teacher 2023 is different. Decisions made by the KVS will be final regarding the eligibility criteria, acceptance or rejection of the applications, penalty for false information, mode of selection, the conduct of examination(s), allotment of examination centers, selection and posting of the selected candidate. No queries will be entertained by the authority.

The eligibility criteria for the KVS exam to be fulfilled by the aspirants is divided in three categories –

  3. KVS eligibility in terms of Nationality.

Important Pointers with regards to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Eligibility Criteria – 

  • Must have all the relevant documents mentioned for the KVS Eligibility Criteria.
  • Ration Cards and Learner’s Driving License are not accepted as identity proof
  • KVS Employees/Government Servants claiming age relaxation shall have to produce a certificate in the format prescribed by the KVS.
  • The signature on all the documents must be identical.

KVS Eligibility Criteria  – Nationality

As per the KVS eligibility criteria mentioned in the official notification, the requirements with regard to Nationality is as follows – 

  • Applicants must be an Indian Citizen
  • Any candidate who is meeting the educational and age requirements are eligible to apply.

  • Two Years Integrated Post Graduate M.Sc. Course from Regional College of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject
  • From a recognized university a masters degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate in the following subjects
  • B.Ed or any equivalent degree from a recognized University
  • In Hindi and English Medium Proficiency in teaching. Hence, candidates with teaching experience are desirable.

  • B.Ed or any equivalent degree from a recognized University.
  • Pass in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) Paper-II, conducted by CBSE in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE.
  • Candidates having at least 50% marks in aggregate as well as in the concerned subjects, in a 4-year Degree course at the Regional College of Education of NCERT.

TGT (Physical & Health Education) Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education.
TGT (Aart Education) Five years Diploma from an institute recognized by the Government of India, in the following fields:

  • Drawing and painting
  • Sculpture
  • Graphic Art
TGT (Work Experience) Candidates should have a Degree/Diploma in Electrical Gadgets & Electronics domain that includes either of the following:

  • A three-year Diploma Course after 10+2 in Electrical Electronic Engineering from a University, recognized by the Government of India
  • A Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering(EEE) from a University, recognized by the Government of India
  • Graduate Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a University, recognized by the Government of India

Candidates should be proficient in conducting classes in Hindi as well as in English. Desirable qualities include a minimum of one year of practical work experience in an institute/workshop/factory environment, along with first-hand knowledge of Computer Applications.

KVS Education Qualification For Primary Teacher (PRT)

Candidates who are willing to apply for the post of KVS Recruitment 2022 PRT, should check the educational eligibility information provided in the table given below:

* who has acquired the qualification of Bachelor of Education from any NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in class I-V provided the person so appointed as a teacher shall mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE within two years of such appointment as Primary Teacher

2. Qualified in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test

3. Proficiency to teach through Hindi and English Media.

Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Primary Teacher (Music) Essential:

i) Senior Secondary School Certificate with 50% marks or Intermediate with 50% marks or its equivalent and Bachelor Degree in Music or equivalent from a recognized University.

ii) Competence to teach through English Hindi medium.

Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Note: For the post of Primary Teacher (Music), the candidates who have obtained a Diploma in Music are not eligible to apply.

KVS eligibility Criteria – Number of Attempts

  1. As per the KVS eligibility conditions there is no such limit to the number of attempts for the KVS exam.
  2. Candidates within the age limit and fulfilling the educational requirement can apply multiple times for the exam.
