Symbiosis Law Aptitude Test (SLAT) is a Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed) University (SIU), for admission into its Undergraduate (UG) law courses.

The SLAT examination is a common entrance test for four Symbiosis Institutes: Symbiosis Law School (SLS) Pune, SLS Noida, SLS Hyderabad, and SLS Nagpur (new campus). BA LLB (Hons.) and BBA LLB (Hons.) are the two integrated UG law courses offered by these institutes.

SLAT Selection Process

The three-step selection process for SIU Law Courses:

  1. SLAT online examination
  2. Writing Ability Test (WAT) ‘Home-Based Online Proctored Mode’
  3. Personal Interaction (PI) Online

SLAT 2023 Exam Pattern

Writing Ability Test (WAT)

In WAT, the candidate’s writing abilities are tested. The candidate is asked to write an essay on any topic from social, political, and legal domains. The total marks for this test are 20 and the time allotted is 30 minutes.

Personal Interaction (PI)

PI will also be conducted online in which experts test the personal attributes of the candidate, his proclivity towards a career in law, and his overall personality and communication skills, extracurricular activities, and basic knowledge of the law.

Eligibility for SLAT Exam

Any candidate who has passed XII (10+2) from a central or state board with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates) is eligible to take the SLAT exam. Candidates who are awaiting results can also apply for SLAT 2023.

SLAT 2023 Exam Centres

The SLAT exam is organized in 80 centres across India. At the time of filling out the registration form, the candidate needs to give three preferred choices for the exam centres.

Registration for SLAT Exam 2023

  1. Online registration on the website-set-test.org between 16 December 2022 to 16 April 2023.
  2. The registration fee for SLAT Exam is INR 1950/-
