ESIC Qualifications

The Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) put many qualifications criteria for the three posts:

  1. Stenographer
  2. Upper Division Clerk
  3. Multi-Tasking Staff

List of Educational Qualifications for ESIC Exam

The educational qualifications required for each post is as allows:

Posts  Educational Qualifications
Upper Division Clerk
  • A degree of a recognized University or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of computer including use of office suites and databases
Stenographer
  • 12th class pass or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
  • Skill Test Norms:

Dictation: 10 Minutes at 80 words per minute.

  • Transcription:50 minutes (English), 65 minutes (Hindi) (Only on computers).
Multi-Tasking Staff
  • Matriculation or equivalent pass from recognized Board.

*Note: Candidates who have not acquired/will not acquire the educational qualification as on the closing date of receipt of online application will not be eligible and need not apply.

What is the ESIC Exam?

ESIC is a National Level entrance exam that is conducted once every year. ESIC Selection Process includes Prelims, Mains, and Computer Skill Tests. But for the post of Stenographer, there will be the Mains exam & Computer test only. Based on the total number of vacancies per post, the recruitment process is structured.

What is the ESIC exam pattern?

There will be 4 sections- General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. There will be 100 Objective Type Questions with 2 marks each for the correct answer. The duration of the test will be 60 minutes

Is there negative marking in ESIC?

 The written test is the first stage of the ESIC Junior Engineer exam. Each paper will be conducted for 100 marks. The total duration for both papers is 2 hours. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
