  • Suhail is the son of Mohammad Qasim Mir, a Head Constable posted at Hazratbal, in the Jammu & Kashmir State police service.
  • He is a resident of the Bijbehara area in the volatile Anantnag district.
  • He is the eldest of three siblings.
  • Suhail was 26 years old when he cleared the civil services exam.

Educational Background

  • After completing his schooling from Bijbehara, Suhail pursued his graduation from the Government Degree College in Bemina, Srinagar.
  • After that, he pursued his MBA from Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi.
  • When the UPSC results were declared he was pursuing his doctorate from the same university.

Why IAS?

Suhail grew up watching his father in service of the government. He was always fascinated with the decorum of a government job having seen his father. He also credits his father for his amazing success of being an IAS Officer.
