The UPSC Civil Services Examination (Mains) is the second stage of the UPSC IAS Exam, with a total of 9 papers. Paper A is the mandatory Indian Language Paper out of the nine papers. Aspirants taking the Mains exam must select an Indian language from a list given by the Union Public Service Commission in the official notification.
Paper A – Compulsory Indian Language Paper is being held on 24th September 2022 (Saturday) in the forenoon session.

UPSC 2022 Mains Indian Languages Paper
The papers in Indian languages will be at Matriculation or comparable level and would solely be qualifying in character. This paper’s scores will not be used to determine in the final merit list. The total number of marks allotted for this paper is 300, and the time limit is 3 hours.
The purpose of the paper is to assess applicants’ abilities to read and comprehend serious discursive prose as well as convey ideas clearly and correctly in one of the Indian languages involved.
