Context:
15 companies selected under the 2nd Round of PLI Scheme for White Goods.
Details:
- Under this, 6 AC Companies will invest Rs 908 crore and 9 LED Companies will invest Rs 460 crore.
- Production worth Rs 25,583 crore is expected over the next 5 years creating additional direct employment for about 4,000 persons.
- As a result of PLI in White Goods, domestic value addition is expected to grow from the current 15-20% to 75-80%.
About the PLI Scheme for White Goods:
- The PLI Scheme on White Goods is designed to create a complete component ecosystem for Air Conditioners and LED Lights Industry in India and make India an integral part of the global supply chains.Â
- The Scheme extends an incentive of 6% to 4% on a reducing basis on incremental sales for a period of five years subsequent to the base year and one year of gestation period.

Dak Karmayogi: E-Learning Platform launched by Union Minister.
About Dak Karmayogi:
- It is an e-learning portal of the Department of Posts.
- This portal has been developed in-house under the vision of ‘Mission Karmayogi’.
- Benefits:
- ‘Dak Karmayogi’ portal will enhance the competencies of about 4 lakh Gramin Dak Sevaks & Departmental employees by enabling the trainees to access the uniform standardized training content online or in blended campus mode to enable them to effectively deliver a number of G2C services for enhanced customer satisfaction.Â
- On the successful completion of the final summative assessment, a system-generated course completion certificate will be sent on the trainee’s registered email ID automatically.Â
- Trainees can give their feedback, ratings and suggestions for each and every video and other learning content so that necessary enrichment can be ensured.

Meghdoot Awards: Postal Department confers Meghdoot awards to Postal Employees for their achievements in 2019-20. The Meghdoot Awards were instituted in 1984 to recognise the outstanding performance of employees at the national level. The award includes a cash prize of Rs.21000, a gold medallion and a citation. They are given in eight categories.
3. Laser-Guided Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM)

Context:
Indigenously developed Laser-Guided ATGM successfully tested by DRDO & Indian Army.
About Laser-Guided ATGM:
- This Laser Guided ATGM has been developed by two Pune-based facilities of the DRDO’s Armament and Combat Engineering (ACE) Cluster — the Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE) and High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL) — in association with Instruments Research and Development Establishment (IRDE), Dehradun.
- The ATGM has been developed with multi-platform launch capability and is currently undergoing technical evaluation trials from the 120 mm rifled gun of MBT Arjun.Â
- The Laser Guided ATGM has the capability to defeat the protected armoured vehicles in ranges from 1.5 to 5 kilometres.
- The missile has the capacity of defeating armoured vehicles which use Explosive Reactive Armours (ERA), which are specially designed armour plates that can counter the impact of the attack projectile.
- The ATGM uses a ‘tandem’ High Explosive Anti Tank (HEAT) warhead.Â
- The term tandem refers to the missiles using more than one detonation in order to effectively penetrate the protective armours of the adversary tanks.

4. RIMPAC-22

Context:
INS Satpura entered Pearl Harbour in Hawaii Islands to participate in RIMPAC-22.
RIMPAC-22:
- The US Navy-led biennial Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise-22 is aimed at enhancing interoperability and building trust among Navies of friendly foreign countries.Â
- 27 countries are participating in the current edition of the multi-dimensional exercise.
- The exercise comprises six weeks of intense operations and training.
About INS Satpura:
- INS Satpura is an indigenously designed and built 6000-tonne guided missile stealth frigate equipped to seek and destroy adversaries in air, surface and underwater.
