Context: CSIR-NIScPR celebrates 81st Foundation Day of CSIR.
Details:
- CSIR, one of the largest R&D organisations in India, was set up on 26 September 1942.
- Currently, it has more than 35 laboratories across the country engaged in research in a variety of topics.

About CSIR-NIScPR:
- CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR), located in New Delhi, was established in 2021 by merging two CSIR labs, namely, CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources (CSIR-NISCAIR) and CSIR-National Institute of Science, Technology and Development Studies (CSIR-NISTADS).
- The organisation acts as a resource centre in the fields of Science, Technology & Innovation Policy Research and Science Communication.
It promotes STI policy studies and science communication.
3. Regional Workshop on 24X7 Water Supply Systems

Prelims: About workshop on 24X7 Water Supply Systems
Context:
2-day workshop being organised on 24X7 Water Supply Systems by the Central Public Health and Environmental Engineering Organisation (CPHEEO), Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs with technical cooperation of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Government of Odisha.
Details:
- 24×7 water supply is the need of the hour to improve the service delivery and steer the economy by improving the livelihoods of the urban population.
- Therefore, it is the need of the hour to disseminate knowledge and handhold the states and cities on 24×7 water supply systems.
- In order to disseminate knowledge and extend handholding support to States and Cities for converting from intermittent water supply to 24X7 continuous water supply systems, the Ministry has constituted National Task Force (NTF) on 24×7 water supply systems at National level and State-level Task Force (STF) on 24×7 water supply systems at State level respectively.
