AFCAT 2023 Age Limit

The AFCAT 1 2023 notification was released on 1st December 2022. According to the notification, the online AFCAT examination will be conducted on February 24, February 25 and February 26, 2023.

Candidates who have applied for the AIR FORCE COMMON ADMISSION TEST 1/2023 must refer to the official notification to check the dates, eligibility, vacancies, posts, application procedure etc.

Candidates intending to apply for AFCAT should ensure that they fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria specified by the IAF. The Eligibility Conditions for the AFCAT exam are based on 

  • Nationality
  • Age
  • Educational Qualifications

Age Limit for AFCAT 1/2023

The age limit notified by AFI is different for Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry and Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch. The age limit criteria for different posts is given below:

Branch Age Limit
Flying- AFCAT Entry
  • 20 to 24 years
  • The candidate must be born between 2nd Jan 2000 to 1st Jan 2004 as of 1st Jan 2024 (both dates inclusive).
Ground Duty (Technical) {Aeronautical Engineer Electronics and Aeronautical Engineer Mechanical}- AFCAT Entry 
  • 20 to 26 years
  • As of 1st Jan 2024 i.e. born between 2nd Jan 1998 to 1st Jan 2004 (both dates inclusive).
Ground Duty (NonTechnical) {Administration & Education)- 
  • 20 to 26 years
  • As of 1st Jan 2024 i.e. born between 2nd Jan 1998 to 1st Jan 2004 (both dates inclusive).
Flying- NCC Special Entry
  • 20 to 24 years
  • The candidate must be born between 2nd Jan 2000to 1st Jan 2004 as of 1st Jan 2024 (both dates inclusive). 
Note:

  • Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course. 
  • Widows/Widowers and divorcees (with or without encumbrances) below 25 years of age are also not eligible.  
  • Married candidates above 25 years of age are eligible to apply, but during the training period they will neither be provided married accommodation nor can they live out with family. 
  • There is no age relaxation based on socio-economic categories.

The candidates should exercise due care while entering their Date of Birth. If on verification at any subsequent stage, variation is found in their date of birth from the one entered in their Matriculation or equivalent examination certificate, it will render them disqualified.
