AFCAT Training
- Training for AFCAT 1 and AFCAT 2 is scheduled to commence in the first week of January and July 2021 for all courses.
- The approximate duration of training for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches is 74 weeks and that of Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches is 52 weeks at Air Force Training Establishments.
- PAN Card, Aadhaar card and account in SBI/ Nationalised Bank is mandatory at the time of joining Air Force Academy (AFA).
AFCAT SalaryÂ
The starting pay of Flight Cadets as mentioned in the AFCAT notification is Rs 56,100 per month (a fixed stipend) during one year of training. Successful candidates are placed in the pay level 10. The Flying Officers are entitled to a salary of Rs 56,100 – 1,77,500. The MSP provided to candidates is Rs 15,500. Apart from this candidates are also entitled to various allowances.Â

AFCAT Online Application
The AFCAT application and registration process begin along with the releases of notification or from the date mentioned in the notification.Â
For AFCAT 2023 recruitment the registration is dated to start from December 1st and the candidates will be able to fill the application form for AFCAT 1 notification 2023 till December 30th 2023.

- Visit the official IAF career website

- Click on New registration.

- A new AFCAT registration ID and password will be sent to the registered mail ID.
AFCAT Application Form Filling
- Use the registration Id and password to log in
- Provide the necessary information as per the directions given
- Give the preference of IAF branch, examination centre and EKT subject, etc.
- Upload scanned signature and photograph (as per dimensions given in the notification)
- Click on submit.
AFCAT Application Fee
After completing the application form filling, candidates are required to pay the examination fee through the ‘Make Payment’ step in the main menu.
- Candidates registering for AFCAT entry will have to pay an amount of Rs. 250/- as examination fee.Â
- The AFCAT application fee is non-refundable and can be paid using credit/ debit cards/ net banking through the payment gateway.

AFCAT Eligibility
IAF mentions detailed eligibility requirements for different branches in the notification. Candidates who wish to apply for AFCAT recruitment must meet the eligibility conditions so as to avoid the rejection of their candidature.
The eligibility criteria as prescribed by the Indian Air Force in the official AFCAT notification is as follows –
- Both men and women can apply
- Applicants below 25 years of age must be unmarried.
- Widow/widower below 25 years are not eligible
- Applicants must be an Indian citizen
- Minimum age to appear for AFCAT recruitment is 20 years
- Maximum age is 24 years and 26 years for Flying Branch and Ground Duty Branch respectively.Â
- Candidates must have compulsorily passed 10+2 level with 50% marks in each Maths and Physics.
- To be eligible for AFCAT recruitment candidates must possess a graduation degree from a recognized university. However, the degree and discipline of different branches are different.
