Only online applications are accepted for the positions of general manager, assistant general manager, and medical officer. Candidates should carefully go through the eligibility criteria before filling in the application form. Details regarding the application process are given below.
- In case of vacancies for the post of General Manager, candidates can apply in any one zone and only for any one of the post codes i.e. A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H in the opted zone. [A-(Manager (General), B-Manager (Depot), C-Manager (Movement), D-Manager (Accounts), E-Manager (Technical), F-Manager (Civil Engineering) and G-Manager (Electrical Mechanical Engineering) and H– Manager (Hindi)]
- In order to apply for the FCI exams, candidates should visit the official website and register for the exam.
- After registering for the exams, candidates should fill in personal details, educational qualification, experience etc in the online application form.
- Candidates should also upload a scanned photograph, signature, left thumb impression and a hand written declaration.

- Phase 1 online test will be of objective type comprising multiple choice questions (MCQs)
- Each question will carry 1 mark and there will be negative marking. For each incorrect response, one-fourth of the total mark assigned to the question will be deducted.

The recruitment process includes training as a Management Trainee. It carries a weightage of 10%. Candidates chosen to be Management Trainees must complete six-month training.

Interview & Document Verification
In accordance with the number of openings, candidates who receive the required minimum score in the online exam will be shortlisted for the interview.
- For the Assistant manager post, the weightage given to the online test and interview is 90% and 10% respectively.
- At the time of the interview, the documents will be verified. Applicants should submit valid documents as mentioned in the official notification. Candidates will not be permitted to appear for the interview until the document verification process is successfully completed.
- The official FCI website, fci.gov.in, is where applicants can download their call letter for the interview. In the call letter for the interview, the venue, date and time, and other important information will be specified.

The exam for the General Manager post is conducted in two phases i.e. Phase 1 and Phase 2. Phase 1 consists of questions related to English, Reasoning and Numerical Aptitude. The Food Corporation of India publishes the results of the candidates on its official website that is fci.gov.in. After every phase of the
Appointment of shortlisted candidates will be subject to their being found medically fit and the verification of credentials, character, antecedents and caste etc. wherever applicable.
Training and Posting
After shortlisting the candidates, there is training for candidates based on the (some) posts. More information is given below:
- In the case of Manager (General, Depot, Movement, Accounts, Technical, Civil Engineering and Electrical Mechanical Engineering), the weightage (total marks) assigned for training is 10%. After successfully completing the training, the selected candidates may be given appointment letters and these candidates will be placed on probation as per the rules and regulations of the FCI.
- In case of Manager (Hindi) post, there is no training and the weightage given while calculating the total marks for online test (Phase-II) and interview is 90% and 10% respectively.
- For the Manager posts, selected candidates from a particular zone can be posted in any State or Union Territory within the jurisdiction of that zone or anywhere in the country. The jurisdiction of each zone is given in the table below:
