IPS Vacancy
One of the important parts of UPSC IPS Notification is the number of vacancies for the said post. The reservations of ST, SC, and OBC will also be applicable. The vacancies given are tentative and can be subjected to change. The service-wise vacancies of 2023 are yet to be released by UPSC.
IPS Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must be aware of the eligibility criteria given in UPSC IPS notification 2023 before appearing for the exam. Below are the eligibility criteria required to be fulfilled by the candidates appearing for the IPS exam.
- Age Limit– Minimum age of 21 years; maximum age differs category-wise and with the benchmark of physical disability.
- Nationality– Must be an Indian citizen.
- Number of Attempts– 6 attempts for General category & EWS (Maximum number of attempts are different for other categories)
- Physical Standards– As per the Rules for Examination
- Minimum Qualification in Education– Graduate degree from a recognised University
- Restriction on Applying– Officers already appointed to the IAS or IFS aren’t eligible

IPS Selection Process
According to the IAS IPS notification 2023, the first stage of the exam is the Preliminary Exam. It consists of two papers. Both the papers are compulsory and contain 200 marks each. The candidates who qualify for this exam have to appear for the Mains Exam. The total marks in the Mains Exam are 1750. The candidate who qualifies for the Main Exam will go for the personality test containing 275 marks. After qualifying all these stages, the candidate will have to give a Physical Test, and document verification will follow.

What are the steps to download the IPS Exam Notification?
The IPS notification can be downloaded from the official website of UPSC. The candidate has to go to Examination Tab, then click on Active Exam and then select Indian Civil Service (Preliminary) Exam 2023. From there, they can download the current notification for the exam.
