EPFO Social Security Assistant (SSA) Vacancies
A total of 2674 vacancies have been announced for the post of EPFO Social Security Assistant Notification 2023. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) last conducted the SSA exam in June 2019. 2189 vacancies were notified for the post of Social Security Assistant (SSA) in 2019. The EPFO notifies category-wise total number of vacancies for different regions in the country. A region may comprise a State or a number of States and Union territories under its purview.
Candidates who wish to apply for the next EPFO SSA examination should go through the official notification before filling up the online application form. They should also keep in mind that they will only be taken into consideration for positions in the region where they want to take the SSA exam.
EPFO Social Security Assistant (SSA) Eligibility Criteria

EPFO Social Security Assistant (SSA) Exam Pattern
The EPFO Social Security Assistant (SSA) exam is held in three phases. These are:
Phase 1- Preliminary exam
Phase 2-Main Exam
Phase 3- Computer Skill Test or Computer Data Entry Test

Preliminary Exam
The preliminary examination contains multiple-choice questions related to numerical aptitude, English and reasoning ability. It is a screening test and the marks obtained in Phase 1 are not used to determine a candidate’s final score. There is negative marking, and each incorrect response results in a deduction of one-fourth of the total marks awarded to the question.
Candidates who achieve the overall and sectional cut-off scores will be qualified to take the Phase 2 of the EPFO SSA test.

Main Examination
The Main exam comprises objective and subjective type questions. The objective online test includes questions on economy, reasoning, general and financial awareness, english and quantitative aptitude. The descriptive exam evaluates candidates’ comprehension and English skills. Candidates are required to take the descriptive test online and type their answers using the keyboard.
There is negative marking. One-fourth of the marks allotted to the questions will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Computer Skill Test or Computer Data Entry Test
Computer Skill Test or Computer Data Entry Test is qualifying in nature. During the data entry test, candidates are expected to make a minimum of 5000 key depressions per hour. The marks scored in the skill test will not be included for final selection.

EPFO Social Security Assistant (SSA) Application Process
Candidates should keep the following in mind while applying for the EPFO Social Security Assistant (SSA) examination:
- Candidates are not allowed to make any changes in the online application form after its submission. Therefore, applicants should carefully go through the official notification and guidelines given by the EPFO before applying for the exam.
- Candidates who have not got their final examination results are not eligible to apply for the EPFO SSA exam.
- Applicants will receive a system generated e-receipt after successfully paying the exam fee.
- Aspirants should upload the required scanned documents as per the specification given by the EPFO in its official notification.
EPFO Social Security Assistant (SSA) Admit Card
EPFO releases the call letter or admit card after the completion of the application process. Candidates can visit the official website of the EPFO i.e. epfindia.gov.in to download the admit card. Applicants should login using the registration number or roll number and Password or Date of Birth.
Along with the admit card, candidates should obtain the EPFO SSA exam information handout. On the admit card, they should paste a recent passport-size photograph. Candidates should also carry a photo identity proof and photocopy of the photo identity proof to the examination centre.

EPFO SSA Exam Centre
Applicants should reach the examination centre at the reporting time given in the call letter.
They should carry the call letter, photo identity proof and photocopy of the photo identity proof to the exam centre. The name on the ID proof must exactly match the name on the admit card. Ration Card and Learner’s Driving Licence are not valid ID proofs.

EPFO Social Security Assistant (SSA) Cut-off Marks
The Preliminary exam and the skill test are both qualifying phases. The marks obtained in Phase II only will be considered for final selection. The EPFO releases region-wise cut-off marks for various phases. The SSA exam was last announced by the EPFO in 2023.

Points to Remember: EPFO SSA Exam Results
- Candidates should upload their certificates and other documents on the official website of the EPFO after the Phase 2 Main examination.
- EPFO SSA Phase 1 and Phase 3 exams are qualifying in nature. Candidates who qualify in Phase 3 are considered for final selection based on the marks scored in Phase 2.
- In case there is a tie between two or more candidates, then the following method is used to break the tie:
- Date of Birth: Older candidates are considered above the rest
- Alphabetical order in which names of the candidates appear
- The candidature of the selected applicants is provisional. They have to fulfil the eligibility criteria in all respects to be finally considered. They also have to submit their documents in original while joining or during document verification.
- The merit list is prepared based on the total scores obtained by candidates in all five tests (T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5) in Phase-II of the EPFO SSA examination.
- Candidates should regularly check their email Id and EPFO’s website to get updates on the exam results, various phases of the examination etc.
