About Bihar State Cooperative Bank

Bihar State Cooperative Bank, or BSCB, was founded in 1914. Its headquarter is located in Patna. Presently, the bank is running its business through its 11 branches and 23 District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs).

Earlier, the bank was only in the lending business in the Agriculture sector. But after the issuance of guidelines regarding non-agriculture finance from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), the bank started its business in the non-agriculture sector in the year 1990. Thus, at present, the bank is doing the lending business in Non-agriculture and the Agriculture sector.

BSCB has improved its operational efficiency over the last 2 to 3 years. The bank employees are sent to BIRD and other training institutions to gain skills and impart training. New contract-based recruitment has also been made for candidates with technical qualifications like MCA, MBA, BCA, etc., to improve operational efficiencies.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must belong to one of the following categories to appear for the exams:

Educational Qualification

• Four years of Engineering/Technology degree in IT/Computer Science/Electronics and Communication Engineering/Computer Application/Electronics and Instrumentation/Electronics and Telecommunication.
• Post Graduate in IT/Computer Science/Electronics and Telecommunication/Computer Application/ Electronics and Instrumentation.
• Minimum 60% in BCA as well as MCA from recognized universities.
• Graduates who have passed the DOEACC ‘B’ level exam.

Other Essential Criteria

The applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in any Banking/Financial Institutions/MNCs in IT.

Age Limit

• For Non-handicapped candidates: 25 to 40 years

Work Tenure and Salary

The contract will be tentatively for one year, and its extension will be based on the need and work crunch.

Rs. 40,000/- (Rupees forty thousand) per month will be payable to the employee on contract. However, based on the Performance Appraisal Report, the pay could be raised to

Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand).
