India is a diverse culture, with 29 states and 7 union territory, and 23 officially recognized languages. Today, there are officially four primary boards of education present in India, namely CISCE, IB, CBSE and the State boards.

Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) |
The CISCE sets curriculum from class 1 through class 12. Comparisons are drawn to UK’s A-Level Exam, with a plethora of subject selections.
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) |
CBSE offers courses from class 1 through class 12, examinations conducted at class 10 and 12 are considered board exams. Students have the option of taking up the exam in either English or Hindi (except for language exams)
International Baccalaureate (IB) |
Founded in 1968, IB covers over 3,000 schools spread across 141 countries. However, it is limited to metros and tier-1 cities in India.
State Boards
Nearly every state in India has its own state education department and conducts board exams for classes 10 and 12. Currently, there are 52 state-sanctioned boards present. |
