UPSC Preparation Tips

Along with the above-given facts, candidates are advised to follow the tips given below to steer their IAS preparation effortlessly:

  • Follow the right UPSC Books for preparation. The need to overburden oneself with a pile of irrelevant books would not be helpful. Always read selectively from the books mentioned in the linked article.
  • As reiterated by various toppers, NCERTs are the foundation of UPSC preparation. Hence, one can get his/her hands on NCERT Notes for UPSC compiled in the linked article.
  • Candidates often find themselves getting lured to read multiple topics in a haste thinking it would help them know more. However, one should be mindful while reading about the subjects only mentioned in the UPSC Syllabus. This will save them from getting distracted and keep them aligned.
  • Do scrutinize the exam pattern and syllabus for the UPSC exam well in advance as it will simplify the preparation strategy for the aspirants.

  1. Could you please tell me that I am in 2nd year of my college and in 2023 sept I’ll be 21 years old. So can I appear in CSE exam in 2023 prelims which is in June 2023 or will be able to appear in 2024 only ?

    • Hi Ishanki
      As UPSC states that a minimum age of 21 is needed (as on 1st August of that particular year); you will be able to sit in UPSC 2024 only. Till then, you can keep preparing in parallel. Check our Free IAS Prep page that explains everything about IAS Exam.
