Gopalkrishna Ronanki, a 29-year old teacher from Andhra Pradesh bagged the All India Rank 3 in the prestigious UPSC civil services exam of 2016. The UPSC results were declared on May 31st. Ronanki is the son of a farmer from a remote village Parasamba, in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. This article talks about his inspiring UPSC success story.

AIR 3 Gopalkrishna Ronanki Background
- IAS topper Ronanki completed his schooling in Telugu medium at the Government Primary School at Parasamba village in Palasa Mandal.
- After that, he went to a junior college in Palasa town. Ronanki completed his graduation from MR College in Vizianagaram, pursuing pharmacy.
- He is employed as a second-grade teacher at the Regulapadu MPP School in Palasa Mandal. What is even more interesting is that he took the UPSC exam in the Telugu language.

- Ronanki’s parents, R. Apparao and Rukminamma are mighty proud of their son and believe it is his hard work that has finally paid off. According to his mother, he was a meritorious student throughout his student life
- Ronanki had earlier been shortlisted for the Andhra Pradesh Public Services Commission Group I in 2011.
2016 UPSC Results
The UPSC results were announced on May 31st and 1099 candidates were shortlisted to various central government services. This number includes 846 men and 253 women.

Advocate Murali Krishna alleged in the PIL case against Gopalkrishna that his physically disabled status was fake. Following this, the Hyderabad High Court had issued a notice to the topper.
