West Bengal Police Constable Eligibility Conditions
The WBPRB (West Bengal Police Recruitment Board) has announced the West Bengal Police Eligibility Criteria along with the formal announcement. Candidates must fulfil the following standards in order to be considered for the Constable position.
West Bengal Police Constable Educational Qualification
Candidates must have finished and passed matriculation level (10th standard) schooling from a recognised board to be eligible for the exam. The learning mode could be either regular or distance learning.
West Bengal Police Constable Age Limit
The date of birth present on the matriculation passing certificate will be considered to calculate age of the applicant.

Note: Male candidates must ensure a difference of at least 5 cm between un-expanded and expanded chest measurements. Failure to comply would deem them unfit.
Note: These standards are only qualifying in nature, no score is assigned and hence these are used only to screen out physically unfit candidates.
West Bengal Police Constable Physical Efficiency Tests

Note: All these physical efficiency tests are only qualifying in nature, no marks are awarded for those who pass these tests. Successfully completing them would render the candidate fit and eligible to take part in the next stage of the examination, while failing to achieve the minimum targets will render the aspirant as disqualified.
Note: Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) technology will be used to time each runner individually. For the Physical Efficiency Test, you will only be allowed one chance. The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board will choose the PMT and PET locations in due time.
West Bengal Police Constable Nationality Requirement
Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the position of West Bengal Police Constable. Nationalities from other countries shall be disqualified.
West Bengal Police Constable Language Requirement
The candidate must be able to communicate in Bengali and read, write, and speak it. This rule, however, will not apply to people who are permanent residents in Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts’ hill sub-divisions. Separate provisions will apply to applicants from the Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts’ hill sub-divisions.
