What is NIACL AO?
The NIACL AO full form is New India Assurance Company Limited, which is a Public Sector General Insurance Company with its headquarters in Mumbai. It was founded in 1919 by Sir Dorabji Tata and became a national entity in 1973. It is one of the five insurance companies that the Indian government fully owns, and it is a renowned international insurance corporation with offices and branches spread out across the country.
As per the requirement of the company, NIACL conducts recruitment to hire Administrative Officers in the Specialist and Generalist cadre. The exam is conducted in three stages Prelims, MAins and interviews. The candidates who qualify all three stages are finally selected by the organisation. Candidates recruited by NIACL as AO Generalists will complete work related to claim settlement, risk assessment, underwriting, and assistant supervision. NIACL AO Selection Process
New India Assurance Company Limited conducts the NIACL AO exam to recruit eligible candidates for the Administrative Officer posts in various cadres. NIACL AO exam is not conducted annually. New India Assurance Company Limited releases a notification to hold a recruitment drive as per the company’s requirement.
Three stages make up the NICL AO test selection procedure, allowing for the shortlisting of candidates at each stage of the exam.
The NIACL AO selection process is divided into four stages-
- Preliminary Exam: comprises three sections, i.e. English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. The questions asked are all objective types carrying the weightage of 100 marks.
- Mains Exam: comprises two parts, each having four sections. The Objective test is 200 marks and the Descriptive Test totals 30 marks. The four sections in the Mains Exam are English Language, Reasoning, QA, and General Awareness.
- Interview: Candidates qualifying for the NIACL AO Mains exam are called for the interview round. The weightage of the online exam and Interview will be 80: 20, respectively.

The application fee for the NIACL AO exam is non-refundable in any case and cannot be reserved for any other exam or selection.

Pre-Examination training:
The organisation conducts the pre-examination training for a certain category of candidates. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the company might conduct the pre-examination training using online resources, depending on viability. Candidates who wish to make use of pre-examination training may specify this when applying online if they are SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy)/PwBD.

NIACL AO Admit Card
The NIACL AO Admit card is released 15 days before the AO exam by the New India Assurance Company Limited. Admit card for the NIACL AO exam is released separately for the three phases of the exam, i.e. Prelims, Mains and Interview Process.

NIACL AO Eligibility Conditions
Aspirants of NIACL AO 2023 must fulfil the eligibility conditions prescribed in the official notification of the NIACL AO exam.
The eligibility conditions to appear for the NIACL AO exam are segregated on the basis of

NIACL AO – Nationality
The NIACL AO eligibility criteria in terms of Nationality for the Administrative Officer Job are as mentioned below:
A candidate must be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India Provided that a candidate shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
NIACL AO- Education Qualification
The minimum qualification for the NIACL AO exam is a Graduate or Post Graduate degree from any government-recognised University in any discipline.
Candidates who apply for the Generalist cadre and belong to reserved categories like SC/ST/PWD must have at least 55% marks, and at least 60% marks are required for a General candidate to be eligible to appear for the NIACL AO exam.

NIACL AO Age Limit & Relaxation
As per the NIACL AO age limit eligibility conditions, a candidate must be born not earlier than April 2, 1991, and not later than April 1, 2000.

The recruitment process will begin with an initial online test that will be objective in nature. The Mains test, which consists of both objective and descriptive papers, is next taken by all applicants who proceed from the preliminary stage.
The Mains examination will be used to shortlist candidates who will then be invited to an interview. The official website will post the results. Final selection will be determined by the combined scores of the main exam (objective test) and interview. The final merit list will be compiled in descending order of the candidates’ total marks. The merit list will be used to determine which candidates will be given consideration for appointment.
Depending on the Management’s decision, the chosen candidates may be hired in more than one batch. According to the merit/selection list, the selected applicants’ seniority will be determined. If the candidates chosen in the final merit list do not accept an employment offer, a waiting list of applicants who do not exceed 50% of the available positions may also be created and used.
