What is INET?
The Indian Navy is one of the most distinguished naval forces in the world, responsible for protecting our country both above and below the ocean’s surface. The Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) is a national-level entrance test used to choose officers for several branches/entries of the Indian Navy, including Executive, Educational, and Technical. Selected applicants are awarded a Permanent Commission (PC) and a Short Service Commission (SSC) and train at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) at Ezhimala, Kerala. The test is conducted twice a year for unmarried male and female candidates. INET is a recently introduced test; earlier, candidates were recruited in the Indian Navy through the NDA (National Defense Academy) Exam, the CDS (Combined Defense Academy) Exam, and others. The Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy now each have their own selection authority.

INET 2023: Selection Process
The recruitment procedure for direct officer level admission into the Indian Navy is divided into four major stages. All of these levels are qualifying, which means that the candidate must complete the prior stage before moving on to the next. The INET selection procedure is divided into the following stages:

- INET Computer-Based Written Exam: The exam conducting body will administer a written examination in four sections (English, Reasoning & Numerical Aptitude, General Science & Mathematical Aptitude, and General Knowledge). The test will have a total of 400 marks.
- SSB Interview: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the written test and informed through email/SMS to attend an interview and personality test round.
- Medical Examination: All applicants taking the INET exams must pass the medical exam. All of the information on medical standards is provided in the notification.
- Merit List: he board will issue the final merit list of candidates based on their performance in the written test and the SSB round. The candidates must be confirmed as medically fit by the SSB before being issued an appointment letter for the initial training term.

INET 2023: Application Process
The mode of the application is online. Candidates needs to fill in their personal details at the time of applying for the exam. Candidates can fill out the application form by following these easy steps:
- Go to the Indian Navy’s official website.
- Click on the link that reads “Click here to Apply Online.”
- A new page will be shown. To apply for the INET 2023 test, click “Register.”
- On the following page, there would be two options: “Register using Aadhaar ID” or “Register without Aadhaar.” Choose the relevant one and press the Proceed button.
- To register on the site, enter the ID Proof details and number.
- Next, log into the site and provide basic information, such as name, email address, phone number, and so on, as well as the educational information.
- Upload the necessary documents, such as your signature and a photograph.
- Pay the application fees.
- Print a copy of the application form for future use.

INET 2023: Eligibility Criteria

INET 2023: Exam Pattern
The INET exam will last two hours. It will have 100 multiple-choice questions in English, Reasoning and Numerical Ability, General Science, Mathematical Aptitude, and General Knowledge. Each part will be worth 100 marks, with a penality of one-mark for every wrong answers.

INET 2023: Salary

The Indian Navy will directly post the INET 2021 Answer Key for the written examination on its official website.
