Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) 2023

The INET exam is one of the most prestigious exams for entry into the Indian Navy. The Indian Navy administers the INET examination twice a year. Candidates will be qualified for various positions in the Indian Navy based on their performance in the exam. This entrance test is held for several sections of the Indian Navy’s PSC (Permanent Service Commission) and SSC (Short Service Commission). The exam is divided into three main stages: INET Written Test, SSB Interview and Physical Medical Test.

The Indian Navy is expected to issue an INET 2023 notification soon, for courses starting at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala. What is INET?

The Indian Navy is one of the most distinguished naval forces in the world, responsible for protecting our country both above and below the ocean’s surface. The Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) is a national-level entrance test used to choose officers for several branches/entries of the Indian Navy, including Executive, Educational, and Technical. Selected applicants are awarded a Permanent Commission (PC) and a Short Service Commission (SSC) and train at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) at Ezhimala, Kerala. The test is conducted twice a year for unmarried male and female candidates. INET is a recently introduced test; earlier, candidates were recruited in the Indian Navy through the NDA (National Defense Academy) Exam, the CDS (Combined Defense Academy) Exam, and others. The Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy now each have their own selection authority.

INET 2023: Selection Process

The recruitment procedure for direct officer level admission into the Indian Navy is divided into four major stages. All of these levels are qualifying, which means that the candidate must complete the prior stage before moving on to the next. The INET selection procedure is divided into the following stages:

    • INET Computer-Based Written Exam: The exam conducting body will administer a written examination in four sections (English, Reasoning & Numerical Aptitude, General Science & Mathematical Aptitude, and General Knowledge). The test will have a total of 400 marks.
  • SSB Interview: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the written test and informed through email/SMS to attend an interview and personality test round.
  • Medical Examination: All applicants taking the INET exams must pass the medical exam. All of the information on medical standards is provided in the notification.
  • Merit List: he board will issue the final merit list of candidates based on their performance in the written test and the SSB round. The candidates must be confirmed as medically fit by the SSB before being issued an appointment letter for the initial training term.

INET 2023: Application Process

The mode of the application is online. Candidates needs to fill in their personal details at the time of applying for the exam. Candidates can fill out the application form by following these easy steps:

  1. Go to the Indian Navy’s official website.
  2. Click on the link that reads “Click here to Apply Online.”
  3. A new page will be shown. To apply for the INET 2023 test, click “Register.”
  4. On the following page, there would be two options: “Register using Aadhaar ID” or   “Register without Aadhaar.” Choose the relevant one and press the Proceed button.
  5. To register on the site, enter the ID Proof details and number.
  6. Next, log into the site and provide basic information, such as name, email address, phone number, and so on, as well as the educational information.
  7. Upload the necessary documents, such as your signature and a photograph. 
  8. Pay the application fees.
  9. Print a copy of the application form for future use.

INET 2023: Application Fees

The application fees must be paid at the time of applying online. This application fees differ based on the category of the candidate:

INET 2023: Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for the INET 2023 test, applicants must thoroughly understand the examination’s INET Eligibility Criteria. The first step in exam preparation is to understand the qualifying requirements. Following are the criteria:

INET 2023: Exam Pattern

The INET exam will last two hours. It will have 100 multiple-choice questions in English, Reasoning and Numerical Ability, General Science, Mathematical Aptitude, and General Knowledge. Each part will be worth 100 marks, with a penality of one-mark for every wrong answers.

INET 2023: Admit Cards

INET 2023: Salary

The Indian Navy pays well for those who pass the INET Exam. Your compensation may differ based on your position. INET 2023: Answer Key

The Indian Navy will directly post the INET 2021 Answer Key for the written examination on its official website. The authority is likely to issue the INET Answer key within 2-3 weeks following the examination. Candidates can use the answer key to estimate their scores. INET 2023: Cut-Off

The cut off marks list of INET 2023Written Exam will be available  n the official website of the Indian Navy after the completion of the exam. Candidates who have obtained the minimum cut off mark are eligible for interview/personality test round.

INET 2023: Result

The INET 2023 result will be available online. To view the results, candidates must log in using their email address and password. Candidates will be chosen for SSB based on the results of the INET. The final merit list will be based on the combined INET (50 percent weightage) and SSB scores (50 per cent weightage).
