Age Limit for IAS Exam 2022

The Union Public Service Commission conducts the Civil Services Exam every year to appoint candidates into the All India Services, and Group A posts of Central Government. What is the Age Limit for UPSC CSE?

As per the official notification:

“A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years as on the 1st of August (year of the examination)”

Candidates must note that they should not have attained the maximum age limit as of 1st August of the exam year. 

Some Salient Points To Remember About IAS Age Eligibility

  • Candidates who fall under two of the above-mentioned categories will be given a cumulative upper age relaxation under both the categories
  • Only an aspirant who satisfies the age limit along with the other eligibility criteria like the number of attempts, minimum educational qualification, nationality conditions, etc. is eligible to apply for the exam
  • There is no separate IAS Age Limit for female candidates
