IIT Bombay Admission

While IITB is a dream college for many engineering aspirants, there are several ways that candidates can seek admission in this institute. We will look at them below.

For B.Tech courses, the admission is done based on the scores that the candidates achieve in the JEE exam. Candidates have to appear for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced and secure a high score and rank to get into the institution as the seats are limited. For M.Tech courses, the admission in IIT Bombay is largely granted on the basis of the GATE exam. Shortlisting is done based on the scores of the students in the exam. Students with IIT B.Tech. degree and a CGPA OF 8.0 and above are exempted from GATE score requirements.

Additionally, IIT Bombay also takes into account other entrance examination for admission and pre-qualification of students for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

FEE Waivers and Scholarships

IIT Bombay also offers various scholarships and there are certain fee waivers for students.

A: 100 percent Fee waiver (Tuition Fee) for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Physically Handicapped category Students.

B: Full remission of Fee (Tuition Fee) for OBC and General category students whose family has income less than one lakh rupees per annum.

C: Remission of two-thirds of the Tuition Fee for OBC and General category students whose family has income between 1 lakh to 5 lakh rupees per annum.
