Can Diabetes Type 2 be Cured?

There is no cure for Type 2 Diabetes but it certainly can be kept under control. It can be kept under control through weight loss and diet changes. It’s possible for some people to go years controlling their glucose levels. Several studies have shown a very low calorie diet have played a role in keeping diabetes under control.

What is the Difference Between Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes?

Majority of the people get affected with Type 2 Diabetes. As per some studies only 10% of the people with diabetes are of type 1. In Type 1 diabetes, pancreas cannot create insulin whereas in type 2 diabetes the body is unable to make enough insulin or the insulin may not work properly. Type 1 diabetes is kept under control by taking insulin but type 2 can be managed through various other measures.

Can Eating Too Much Sugar Cause Diabetes?

As per research conducted by doctors, sugar consumption alone does not trigger diabetes. There are a range of factors and the research is still ongoing. However, eating too much sugar can cause weight gain, and obesity is one of the risk factors for type 2 diabetes.
