UPSC Answer Key 2020 - Prelims GS & CSAT Answer Key

UPSC Answer Key 2020 (Official) was released on November 10, 2021. The Union Public Service Commission had released the Civil Services Examination 2020 Final Results on September 24, 2021. Candidates can download the answer key PDF further below in the article.  

The official UPSC Answer Key 2020 comprises the answers to the questions asked in the UPSC Prelims under all the four sets A, B, C, and D. The conducting body updates the answer key for the GS-I and CSAT paper on its official website once the final results are declared.

Prelims GS 1 Answer Key 2020

There are 100 questions from subjects like History, Polity, Economy, Geography, Environment, Science and Current Affairs. It is a multiple-choice question (MCQ) paper. Each question carries 2 marks and attracts a negative marking of 0.66 for every wrong answer. Candidates who clear the UPSC Prelims Cut Off appear for the mains stage of the Civil Service Examination.

IAS aspirants can know their score by tallying their answers with BYJU’S UPSC Answer Key 2020:

  1. GS and CSAT papers are of 200 marks each.
  2. There are 100 questions in GS and 80 questions in CSAT.
  3. There is a negative marking of 0.66 for every wrong answer.
  4. A candidate who scores above the cut off will be declared successful for UPSC Mains.
  5. If after tallying your answers with UPSC answer key, your score is near the expected IAS cut off, you should start preparing for UPSC Mains.

UPSC Answer Key 2020 – CSAT

There are 80 questions in the UPSC CSAT from the broad categories of:

  1. Comprehension
  2. Interpersonal skills including communication skills
  3. Logical reasoning and analytical ability
  4. Decision-making and problem-solving
  5. General mental ability
  6. Basic numeracy

Each question carries 2.5 marks and there is a penalty of 1/3rd marks (-0.83 marks) for each wrong answer, filled on the OMR sheet.
