Latest Update: The Union Public Service Commission has released the UPSC Admit Card for Prelims 2023 on the official website on 8th May 2023. Usually, the commission releases the admit card 3 weeks before the exam. As per the notification, “The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admit Card three weeks before the commencement of the examination.” The e-Admit Card will be made available on the UPSC website [ https://upsconline.nic.in ] for downloading by candidates till 28th May 2023, starting from 8th May 2023. No Admit Card will be sent by post.

UPSC Admit Card for CSE Prelims 2023
On May 8, 2023, UPSC enabled the link for obtaining UPSC Admit Card 2023 on its official website at upsc.gov.in. Candidates who want to take the Civil Service Examination on May 28, 2023, should download their UPSC Prelims Admit Card immediately and save a printed copy to carry to exam centre. To download your UPSC CSE Admit Card, visit the official website and download the UPSC Admit Card for Prelims from the link.
- Candidates can download the UPSC Prelims Admit Card 2023 from UPSC’s website, i.e., https://upsconline.nic.in/
- By entering the roll no. or the registration ID, candidates can download their UPSC CSE 2023 admit card for prelims.
- Candidates who are unable to find their admit cards online are advised to download the UPSC notice that mentions the names of the candidates whose applications were rejected due to fictitious fee payment.

Important Instructions to Download IAS Admit Card for Prelims 2023
- Candidates are advised to inform the commission as soon as they discover any discrepancies in their admission cards.
- The printout of the UPSC e-admit card has to be carried along with the candidate’s original identity card (as mentioned on the IAS admit card).
- Candidates have to bring their photographs to the examination centre if their photo on the admit card is blurred or has any other error.
Note: Amid Covid-19-driven rules, the candidate has to wear a mask and carry a transparent bottle of sanitizer along with him/her to the exam venue.

Steps for UPSC Admit Card Download for IAS Prelims 2023
- The UPSC releases the e-admit cards on its website. The UPSC CSE admit cards are not sent by post and candidates have to download them from the official website of the UPSC.
- Navigate to upsc.gov.in in the browser and click on “Admit Cards” on the right or navigate to (upsconline.nic.in) and click on “e-Admit Cards for various examinations of UPSC”
- Then you will be redirected to a page that lists the various UPSC exams for which the e-admit cards are available. Other than e-admit cards for exams, UPSC also issues e-summons and e-admit cards for various recruitment posts.
- Click on Civil Services (Prelims) exam 2023 to download your IAS hall ticket for the UPSC Prelims 2023.
- Before downloading the IAS admit card, you will be asked to enter your registration ID or roll number for the UPSC Prelims 2023.
- The IAS admit card will open as a PDF. Download it and take a printout of this UPSC hall ticket which you have to carry for both the papers of the Civil Services (Prelims) exam.
In case you have forgotten your Registration ID for UPSC Prelims and do not know your roll number either, you can click on the “Forgot RID” option and fill in the required details (Your name, date of birth, father’s and mother’s name) and submit to view the registration ID. You can proceed to download the IAS admit card following the normal process after this.

Discrepancy, Omission or Mistakes on the UPSC Prelims Admit Card 2023

UPSC Mains Admit Card 2023

UPSC Interview Call Letter
The IAS admit card for the interview shall be released after the UPSC main exams are successfully conducted. Once the e-summons are released, the direct link for the same shall be intimated to the candidates through the official website.
Candidates must note that the IAS Interview call letter is communicated through an e-mail. All the candidates who have passed the UPSC Mains stage, have to follow the guidelines mentioned in their UPSC CSE e-summon letter.

General instructions given on the UPSC Hall Ticket for IAS Aspirants
On the IAS admit card for UPSC Prelims, the following instructions for candidates are given:
- Check the e-Admit Card carefully and bring discrepancies, if any, to the notice of the UPSC immediately.
- Bring the UPSC IAS admit card 2023 (printout) along with the (original) Photo Identity Card, whose number is mentioned in the e-Admit Card, in each session to secure admission to Examination Hall. E-Admit Card must be preserved till the declaration of the final results of the Civil Services Examination, 2023.
- You are responsible for keeping the e-Admit Card safe, and if someone person uses it, it is your responsibility to verify that you did not utilise the service of an impostor.
- For the examination, the candidate should not have or use any mobile phone (even if switched off), pager, or any electronic equipment or programmable device or storage media like pen drive, smart watches, etc., or camera or Bluetooth devices, or any other equipment or related accessories, whether in working or switched off mode, capable of being used as a communication device. Any violation of these instructions may result in disciplinary action, including disqualification from future Examinations.
- Candidates who do not have clear images on their e-Admit Card must present a photo ID and two passport-size photographs, one for each session, in order to sit in the Examination with an undertaking.
- Candidates who have chosen their own scribe should be aware that they will be permitted to take the Examination only if they have a separate e-Admit Card for such scribe. The e-Admit Cards for the individual scribes will be distributed individually.

UPSC is going to announce the revised dates of Prelims 2020 on 5th June 2020. Admit card will then be released at least three weeks prior to the revised dates of prelims. You can keep checking our UPSC Exam Date page for updates on the same.
