As per the UPSC calendar (this calendar with tentative dates for UPSC 2019 exams was released on the official site last year), the UPSC Prelims 2019 will be held on June 2, 2019. The aspiring IAS Prelims candidates have to fill the online application and registration before March 18, 2019 (the last date for the receipt of applications).
While the IAS interviews (or the UPSC Personality Test) for the exam year 2018 are set to begin from February 11, 2019, the official notification for UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam 2019 is scheduled to be released on February 19, 2019.
In the official notification, which is published on the official UPSC website and made available on our free IAS prep website as well, candidates will be able to see how to apply to UPSC online for the prelims exam. Candidates must ensure that they successfully apply online for the IAS prelims before the UPSC form last date for the receipt of applications. The UPSC prelims date will also be given in the UPSC notification PDF.

UPSC IAS Exam Important Dates
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts exams for various posts in the Indian government ever year. Lakhs of hopeful aspirants take the prestigious UPSC CSE (also referred to as the IAS exam) which is conducted in three stages:

The UPSC Civil Service (Main) exam comprises nine theory papers. The papers are usually held two per day and the entire mains exam lasts for about a week. The IAS Main for the year 2019 will commence from September 20, 2019, as mentioned in the table above.
Candidates who clear Mains will proceed to the final stage of the UPSC exam process i.e. the IAS interview.
