On 24th July 2018, the SSC GD Notification was released by the Staff Selection Commission.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) administers an open competitive examination for the recruitment of various vacancies for Constables (General Duty) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), NIA & SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles (AR) Examination available in various States/ Union Territories across India.
The SSC GD Notification for the exam year 2019-20 is yet to be released.
SSC GD Exam result for the written test was announced on September 12, 2019. The PET/PST Test for regular candidates was done on September 23rd, 2019 which was earlier scheduled to take place on July 30th, 2019.
Important: SSC GD PET/PST test for candidates belonging to Kashmir valley is scheduled to be held in the month of October 2019. Also, the PET/PST Test in not yet announced.

SSC GD Vacancy
As per the latest SSC GD Notification, the total number of 54,953 vacancies (tentative) for SSC Constable (GD) Exam in CAPFs, Force-wise was intimated by the Nodal Force i.e CRPF initially which is listed as under:
The updated number of reported vacancies for the SSC Constable GD posts were announced on 11th March 2019, through a separate addendum. The total number of SSC GD vacancy for the 2018-19 exam summed up to 58,373 positions in various departments.
As per the Commission, the pay scale of SSC GD Constable is quoted as Rs. 21700- 69100/-.

SSC GD Apply Online
According to the SSC GD Notification, the online registration started the process for the SSC GD Exam on 25th July 2018. For the 2019-20 exam, eligible candidates should login to the SSC official website (ssc.nic.in) and thoroughly read about the SSC GD Apply Online process.

SSC GD Application Fee:
As per the SSC GD Notification, the application fee details for SSC GD Exam are given below:

The SSC GD 2018 application fee for taking the exam was Rs. 100/-. However, women candidates, Ex-Servicemen, and SC/ ST candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.
The fee can be either paid through SBI Challan/ SBI Net Banking or by using Visa/ Mastercard/ Maestro Credit/ Debit card.

SSC GD Admit Card
Upon completion of the online application procedure, the SSC GD Admit Card is released soon enough. Applicants who had successfully filled the SSC GD Application Form for the 2018-19 exam were able to download the exam call letter on February 4, 2019, as per the latest information given in the SSC GD Notification.
Likewise, for the 2019-20 SSC GD Exam, eligible applicants can download the Call Letter from the website of the concerned SSC Regional Office upon intimation.
It is specified in the official SSC GD Notification that the dates of Computer Based Examination (CBE) are subject to change as per the final discretion of the Commission and the new dates will be notified accordingly. The SSC GD Admit Card for the examination will be available for download in due course.
Steps to download the SSC GD Constable Admit Card:
- Visit the SSC official website (ssc.nic.in).
- Click on the link ‘SSC GD Admit Card’.
- Enter the required credentials i.e. Registration ID and Date of Birth (DoB).
- Retain a printout of the Call Letter which needs to be carried to the examination centre on the scheduled exam date.
Generally, the SSC GD Admit card includes the following details:
- Candidate’s Name
- Registration ID
- Exam Centre
- Exam Date
- Examination Time
Applicants should also carry a copy of the application form, Photograph and Photo ID along with the SSC GD Admit Card. In case of any discrepancy in the Call Letter, candidates should contact SSC regional/sub-regional centre immediately to make the necessary corrections wherever required.
