CBSE Board Syllabus Reduced By 30% For Classes 9 to 12 With Core Concepts Retained

Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the HRD Minister has released the revised CBSE Syllabus 2020 for students of Classes 9 to 12. The CBSE syllabus was reduced to 30% in order to rationalize the loss of time. However, the core concepts of the subjects have been retained in the revised syllabus.

He has stated “Looking at the extraordinary situation prevailing in the country and the world, #CBSE was advised to revise the curriculum and reduce course load for the students of Class 9th to 12th.”

The teachers will also have to ensure that the topics reduced are explained to the students to the extent as required to connect the various topics. However, the reduced syllabus will not be part of the topics for internal assessment or the year end board examinations. Elementary classes 1 to 8 may follow the Alternative Academic Calendar and Learning Outcomes as specified by the NCERT.
