SSB Exam Pattern

CAPF recruitment involves a series of steps. The exam pattern for the recruitment process is very elaborate and lengthy. The recruitment process divided into three stages:

1. CAPF written exam
2. Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Standards Test
3. Interview/ Personality Test

The performance in all the three levels of the exam finally creates merit, based on which a candidate is recruited in the Forces.

Paper I in the written exam objective and for every wrong answer, there is one-third negative marking. The final merit is calculated based on the marks as per the written exam and Interview.

The syllabus for the written exam is quite vastly divided into different topics. The CAPF syllabus includes subjects like geography, history, English, etc. and the paper is both objective and descriptive.

The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and the Medical Standards Test are equally important parts of the recruitment process. Any candidate aspiring to qualify the CAPF exam needs to qualify for these two phases of the exam as well.

The Physical Efficiency Test for SSB includes:

Limited Departmental Competetive Exam:

Apart from aspirants across the country, the currently serving employees can also apply for the post of Assistant Commandant in SSB through the LDC exam. The exam is conducted for internal recruitment in the organization.

CAPF released the notification for the LDC exam in the year 2022-23, but the exam was scheduled on the 31st July 2022. A notification for the position of Assistant Commandant was released by the Indian government. In total, 61 positions were made available for recruitment as part of the SSB Assistant Commandant Recruitment 2022. The application form were accepted by May 30, 2022, at the latest.

The eligibility criteria for the exam is as follows:

1. Candidate must not be more than 35 years of age. Age relaxation of 5 years is applicable for SC/ST candidates.
2. The candidate must be a graduate from any Government recognised University.
3. Only three attempts per candidate are allowed.
4. Candidate must have served the organization for a minimum of 4 years.
5. The physical and medical standards are the same as the direct recruitment procedure.

The number of vacancies released depends on the requirement of the hiring Force. The details regarding the number of vacancies released for LDC exam in the recruitment notification of 2022-23 is mentioned below:

The exam pattern for LDC exam is slightly different from the regular recruitment drive. The exam pattern for CAPF LDC exam is divided into four levels:

1. Written Exam
2. Physical Standards Test
3. Personality Test
4. Medical Standard Test

The merit for the exam is decided based on the marks scored in the written test as well as the Interview.

SSB Eligibility Criteria

Union Public Service Commission mentions a list of eligibility criteria that a candidate needs to satisfy to apply for the post of CAPF Assistant Commandant. The below-given eligibility criteria are mentioned in the official notification of UPSC CAPF 2019:

1. Age Limit: Candidate must be between 20 years and 25 years of age. There is an age relaxation of up to 5 years for SC/ST candidates and age relaxation of up to 3 years for OBC candidates.
2. Educational Qualifications: Candidate must be a graduate from any Government University or Deemed to be University.
3. Sex: Both male and female candidate can apply
4. Nationality: Candidate should be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan.

The candidate also needs to fulfil the physical and medical eligibility standards to apply for the post of Assistant Commandant. The physical standards required for CAPF exam are as follows:

The medical standards required for applying for the SSB exam are as follows:

1. EyeSight: 6/6 or 6/9 for better vision and 6/9 and 6/12 fir worse vision.
2. Ear: Candidate must have no degree of deafness
3. Speech: Candidate must not stammer
4. Tattoo Clause: Candidate must not have any symbols on the saluting forearm. Only religious tattoos are allowed
5. Chronic Disease: Candidate must not have any chronic skin disease or any venereal disease.

How to Apply- CAPF Recruitment

The application process for CAPF recruitment begins once the notification is out. Candidates can follow the steps given below to apply for UPSC CAPF exam:

1. Candidates can visit the official site https://www.upsc.gov.in/
2. Only one application is accepted per candidate. So, avoid filling in multiple application forms
3. The exam centre needs to be selected carefully as no changes can be made once the form is submitted.
4. The final step is the payment of fees.
