NRA CET Posts

National Recruitment Agency is set up for conducting the recruitment of various posts under the central government, specifically the Group B and Group C jobs. The NRA CET posts are the non-gazetted ones, and these are filled up through the Common Eligibility Test or the CET. The NRA came into existence and started functioning in August 2020, aiming at making the recruitment process easier and more attractive so that more applications from aspiring candidates can be drawn. The various government departments that are combined in the NRA CET recruitment process are the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Railways etc. Candidates wishing to appear in the NRA CET exam should know about the posts they will be applying for.

NRA CET Exam Posts 2022

The NRA CET will take place twice a year for all posts under Group B and C categories. The exam will be at three levels – graduate level, 12th pass level, and 10th pass level. The three organisations for which the recruitment will be done include SSC, RRB and the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).

  • The NRA will initially conduct the CET for three sectors:
    • Railway Recruitment Board
    • Staff Selection Commission
    • Institute of Banking Personnel Selection

Candidates who appear for the NRA CET 10th Pass exam appear for posts like SSC MTS, SSC GD Constable etc. Details of these posts are as follows:

SSC MTS Post

This non-gazetted post under the central government service belongs to the Group C category. SSC Multi Tasking Staff includes designations of Operator, Gardener, Peon, Junior Operator, Watchman, Gatekeeper etc. Some of their job roles include:

  • Maintaining records
  • Courier delivery
  • Routine office works
  • Carrying files and documents
  • Driving

These non-ministerial post holders under SSC MTS are entitled to pay band 1 (5200-20200) along with a Grade Pay of INR 1800. Thus, now the SSC MTS qualifiers earn the take-home salary of 18,000-22,000 INR. This might vary according to location, designation etc.

SSC GD Constable

The General Duty Constable post under SSC recruits employees in sectors like Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), National Investigation Agency (NIA), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) etc. As per the NRA CET posts 2021 notification, the salary for SSC GD employees was 21700-69100 INR.

NRA CET Posts for 12th Pass Level

Candidates who pass this level exam get recruited in posts like SSC Stenographer, RRB NTPC, SSC CHSL etc.

RRB NTPC

RRB Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) include posts like Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Timekeeper, Traffic Assistant, Trains Clerk, Goods Guard, Station Master etc. The salary for employees of this post ranges from 19,900 INR to 35,400 INR. These employees also enjoy DA, HRA, Ta and pension benefits.

SSC CHSL

SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level exam recruits employees as Lower Division Clerk (CDC), Postal Assistant (PA), Data Entry Operator (DEO), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) etc. The salary range is between 19,900 INR to 63,200 INR.

NRA CET Graduate Level Posts

Candidates of this level qualify for the posts of IBPS PO, Clerk, SSC CPO and other such designations.

IBPS PO and Clerk

The Probationary Officers are responsible for issuing cheque books, handling customer transactions, managing cash etc. As per the 2021 records, the in-hand salary of an IBPS PO is 52,000-55,000 INR. They will also enjoy perks like DA, HRA etc.

IBPS Clerks are the main cashiers who also manage cash, ensure completion of KYC of customers, open and manage bank accounts of customers etc. According to the 2020 IBPS notification, the in-hand salary of an IBPS clerk is 11,765-31,450 INR. They receive TA, HRA and medical insurance.

SSC CPO

Central Police Organisation under SSC offers posts like Sub-Inspector n various police forces such as Delhi Police, CISF etc. After the 7th Pay Commission, the in-hand salary ranges between 29,200 INR and 1,12,400 INR a month.

The CET exam is the first stage of the NRA recruitment process. There will be a common test for all posts at this level. In the consecutive stages, respective departments will overlook the respective exams.
