AE And JE Exam Pattern

It is extremely important to be aware of the AE And JE Exam Pattern. The exam pattern will however vary for each of the exam depending on the exam conducting body. The following table will detail the basic set exam pattern of the JE and AE exams in all the departments:

  • There is a standard format for this exam in every state. Some states have a combination of questions about General Knowledge and Technical concepts. In some states the exam format may include a written exam followed by an interview. Other states may have a combination of compulsory and optional papers to be attempted.
  • To prepare, one must check the format and syllabus of the exam. The written examination takes two to three hours to complete. The objective papers will have all sections which are provided online.
  • The exam may also include technical and subjective sections which are conducted offline.

Regardless of Junior Engineer exam of the conducting body, the general exam format does not change.

General awareness and Technical awareness are the two main sections from which questions are asked.

The first section covers Geography, Maths, English and Current Events. These topics are the same for SSC JE and other Junior Engineer exams, much like the exam structure.

The second is a technical paper focusing on topics related to the area of engineering. About 60% of the final score is based on the second paper.

AE And JE Eligibility Conditions

Depending on the Engineering subject, there are different eligibility requirements for each of the AE JE exams. However, the fundamental requirements for AE JE eligibility are listed below:

  • AE JE Nationality: Indian
  • AE JE Age Limit: Candidates must be between the ages of 21 and 30. Depending on the recruiting organisation, the age limit may change.
  • AE JE Education: A degree in the applicable engineering discipline, as determined by the exam, such as a B.E., B.Tech, M.Tech, or diploma.
