IBPS Syllabus

The IBPS Syllabus is set by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection.

There are a total of four bank exams conducted directly by the institute. The IBPS is also involved in the conduct of other bank exams such as RBI and SBI in an advisory capacity.

The following are the exams directly under the control of the institute:

  • IBPS PO Exam for recruitment of Probationary Officers
  • IBPS Clerk Exam for recruitment of Bank Clerks
  • IBPS SO Exam to recruit Specialist Officers
  • IBPS RRB Exam to recruit Officers and Assistants for Regional Rural Banks

All the exams mentioned above are for public sector banks other than the State Bank of India and the Reserve Bank of India. The subjects covered in the exam and the syllabus are for the most part common for these exams.

The IBPS syllabus for the PO Exam consists of a lot of topics related to different domains like English, Mathematics, General Knowledge.

The IBPS PO exam is the most important bank exam in the country, both in terms of the number of candidates as well the number of vacancies available through the exam.

IBPS Clerk Syllabus

The IBPS syllabus for the Clerk Exam is decided based upon the previous years’ question papers.

The IBPS Clerical Exam is conducted to recruit clerks for all the PSBs, except the Rural PSBs which are covered under the IBPS RRB exam.

IBPS SO Syllabus

The IBPS SO Syllabus is the same as PO syllabus.

However, the professional knowledge section in the IBPS Syllabus for SO Exam is applicable for each specialisation. Additionally, candidates appearing for the Rajbhasha Adhikari position would have to appear for a descriptive paper in Hindi.

The level of difficulty for the IBPS SO exam is also similar to the PO exam.

The IBPS RRB exam is held to recruit both officers and assistants for Regional Rural Banks. The IBPS syllabus of this exam is the same as the IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk examinations.

The syllabus for RRB Scale-II Specialist Officers is similar to the IBPS SO Syllabus.

IBPS RRB Assistant Syllabus

The IBPS RRB Assistant syllabus covers the following subjects:
