The Central Board of Secondary Education is the most favoured Education Board in India, managed by the Union Government of India. The Board was reconstituted on 3 Nov 1962, and since then it has witnessed a rapid growth and development at the level of Secondary Education. There are 18006 Schools in India affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It Includes 2635 Government schools, 1113 Kendriya Vidyalaya, 587 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, 13657 independent schools and 14 Tibetan Schools.
The board aims to deliver a robust and holistic school education that focuses on excellence. All the CBSE Affiliated Schools follow either Hindi or English as the medium of instruction. The board organizes exams for class 10 and 12th every year in the month of March. Besides this, the board also conducts AIEEE and AIPMT entrance examinations. The head office of CBSE is situated at Delhi. It has eight regional offices in the country – Delhi, Dehradun, Guwahati, Panchkula, Ajmer, Chennai, Patna, Allahabad, Thiruvananthapuram and Bhubaneswar in order to execute the functions properly.
