Initial velocity Vi=30im/s

Final velocity, Vf=40jm/s

Step 2. Finding the average acceleration.

By using the formula of the acceleration vector

Acceleration vector a=vf-vit

a=(40j-30i)10ms-2

=(4j-3i)ms-2

Average acceleration, a =42+32

a=5ms-2

Therefore, the average acceleration is 5ms-1.
