Step-1: Draw the figure with the help of given data.

Let, the height of pole, AB=H. Let point D be at the height of H3.

Then, AD=2H3 and BD=H3

The distance BC=20m.

Step-2: Finding height of the pole.

In DBC,

tanα=H320tanα=H60

Also,

tanθ=12 (given)

In ABC,

tanα+θ=H20

tanα+tanθ1-tanαtanθ=H20 tan(A+B)=tan(A)+tan(B)1-tan(A)tan(B)

H60+121-H60×12=H20

H+3060120-H120=H20

2H+60120-H=H20

H2-80H+1200=0

H2-60H-20H+1200=0

H-60H-20=0

H=60mand20m
