Question

Do concave lenses magnify?

Open in App
Solution

We know that the magnification formula is given by M=IH

Where M is the magnification of the mirror

I is the height of the image

H is the height of the object

In order to get magnified images, the magnitude of the lens should be greater than1, but the images formed by concave lenses is always small. Therefore concave lenses don't magnify the image.
