Question

How do you know when to use Bays theorem?

Open in App
Solution

Bayes theorem:It Determines the probability of an event based on the prior knowledge of conditions that might be related to that event.

For example, bag1 contains 2 red and 3 green balls, bag 2contains 4 red and 2 green balls, the probability of drawing a green ball from bag 1

can be found using Bayes theorem. Here, the condition of the event is selecting a ball from bag 1, that means the probability of occurrence of the event depends on the condition related to that event. In this way, Bayes theorem of probability helps in finding the required solution.
