How is the capillary effect related to the contact angle?

The capillary effect of the liquid is decided by the contact angle. When the contact angle is less than 900 the liquid wets the surface. The liquid rises up the capillary tube. If the contact angle is greater than 900 the liquid does not wets the surface. The liquid level will depress in the capillary tube.
