The relation between capillary effect and contact angle is explained below:

  1. If the contact angle is less than 90° the surface becomes wet by liquid.
  2. If the contact angle is greater than 90° the surface doesn't become wet by liquid.
  3. The capillary tube will have been depressed by the liquid level.
