Solution

The correct option is B

1

Explanation for the correct option:

Step 1. Find the value of cos(β-γ)+cos(γ-α)+cos(α-β):

Given, a=cosα+isinα,

b=cosβ+isinβ,

and c=cosγ+isinγ

Now, bc=cosβ+isinβcosγ+isinγ×cosγisinγcosγisinγ

=cosβcosγ+isinβsinγ

bc=cos(βγ)+isin(βγ) …..(1)

Similarly,

ca=cos(γα)+isin(γα) …..(2)

and ab=cos(αβ)+isin(αβ) …..(3)

Step 2. Add equation (1), (2) an (3), we get

cos(βα)+cos(γα)+cos(α+β)+i[sin(βγ)+sin(γα)+sin(αβ)]=1 bc+ca+ab=1

Equate real parts, we get

cos(βγ)+cos(γα)+cos(αβ)=1

Hence, Option ‘B’ is Correct.
